The annual Children’s Show offers an opportunity for young audiences to enjoy a show designed specifically with them in mind. Cast members are drawn from the regular cast of Horn in the West, and they audition for this performance just like they must do for the regular performance.
Centered around themes easily accessible to young audiences, and filled with humor and positive messaging, the Children’s Show is sure to be a favorite memory for all children who see it.
The Children’s Show is also the time when we take a few moments to educate our young audiences on proper theatre etiquette, and hopefully instill in them a long-lasting love of live theatre.
The 2016 Season’s Children’s Show will be announced in late May.
The 2015 season’s play was Pirates! Theodore Thud and the Quest for Weird Beard, by Joshua Mikel.
“A friendly game of pirates becomes all too real when overzealous Theodore accidentally falls into a giant sinkhole and wakes up to find himself amongst real high sea swashbucklers. Before getting back to the real world, he is forced on an epic journey with his companion Harriet the Ghost in a quest to find the notorious pirate Weird Beard and foil the mutinous Mr. Clunky Bones. Will Theodore be able to save Captain Cramp Hand’s ship from falling into evil clutches and return to his friends in time for ice cream?”
The play was produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc., http://www.playscripts.com.
